1. Confirm it is the platform

The status page is the only source that counts; social media reports lag it both ways. If the status page is green and you still cannot load a chat, try a hard refresh, a second browser profile with extensions disabled, and a fresh sign-in before assuming an outage. If the status page shows an incident, nothing on that site will fix it faster than waiting.

2. Keep working somewhere that is up

Outages rarely hit every platform at once. Open Claude, Gemini, Grok and check which one is answering. The problem is not finding a working model; it is that the conversation you were in the middle of is on the site that is down.

3. Move the thread

If the conversation is filed in Sortbase, its folder is visible from any of the four sites. Open it from the one that is up, click the forward icon on the chat row, choose the model, and the whole conversation lands there as an attachment. Say "continue" and carry on. When ChatGPT comes back, the original is still where you left it. If the conversation was never filed, Sortbase cannot reach it during the outage; that is the honest limit, and the reason to file the threads you would be upset to lose.
